3 Picks for Wednesday 5.3

Welcome to The Proposition’s 3 at 3. We had been on the lookout for a simple place to find a few picks a day to build a bankroll, round out some parlays, or attempt to beat any of the handful of prop sites out there, and to do so with as little excess junk as possible.
No analysis paralysis, no needless podcast banter, no endless embedded twitter links, just three picks every afternoon.

Yesterday’s Rapid Rundown: 0-2 (Joey Luchessi was PPD)
W’s:
L’s: Crazy that Jared Vanderbilt was able to go over his rebound line with AD and the greatest rebounder of all time, Kevon Looney, snatching up almost 50 boards combined. On the ice, the Florida Panthers continued to shock the hockey world as they rolled through the Maple Leafs, handing us another L.
Promos to be aware of:
None at the time of this release
Pick #1: Shohei Ohtani | Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-110)
I think this line gives the Cardinals’ offense too much credit. They are the 10th best team in terms of K rate, so good, but not excellent. Meanwhile, Ohtani is averaging 1.35 Ks / inning, which would push his total closer to 7.7 Ks based on the number of innings he usually goes. He has topped this mark in four out of six starts, and they haven’t been that close (10, 8, 11, 8)
Pick #2: Mariners -1.5 > Athletics (-105)
We’ve got quite a lopsided pitching matchup in this one, with Logan Gilbert going up against JP Sears. While Gilbert hasn’t been great overall, facing the A’s putrid offense could be the best medicine. Sears on the other hand has started to regress after a few decent starts to begin the year. This is more of a fade of the A’s vs. I think is a pretty good pitcher. Call this one more of a gut pick than anything else.
Pick #3: SGP Jayson Tatum 5+ Rebounds / Jaylen Brown O 22.5 Pts / Celtics ML | (+100)
We're doing something a little different for our lone NBA game tonight in the form of a 3-leg Same Game Parlay. First, we have Jayson Tatum snagging at least 5 rebounds (he's averaging double this in the postseason). Yes, Joel Embiid is expected to play, but Tatum is still going to get 40+ minutes and ample opportunities for rebounds. Second, Jaylen Brown to score O 22.5 Points. Brown came out hot in the first half of Game 1 before his shot attempts fell off a mountain. Tonight, I expect a better showing and for Brown to find his shot in a must-win game. Which brings me to the last leg of tonight's SGP--the Celtics winning the game. If Boston loses again tonight at home, the current NBA title favorites are going to be in serious trouble. The Celtics are currently -8 favorites, and I would lean on them to cover that number as well. It's been a bad month for Boston sports. Let's turn things around tonight.
