3 Picks for Monday 5.1

Welcome to The Proposition’s 3 at 3. We had been on the lookout for a simple place to find a few picks a day to build a bankroll, round out some parlays, or attempt to beat any of the handful of prop sites out there, and to do so with as little excess junk as possible.

No analysis paralysis, no needless podcast banter, no endless embedded twitter links, just three picks every afternoon.

Yesterday’s Rapid Rundown: 3-0

W’s: Another sweep, let’s go. Kevon Looney, the greatest rebounder in history, smashed his over 12.5 with 21. Our Sabonis / Poole combined points under was a bit of a squeaker, as they got to 30 vs the line of 32.5, but still a nice W. Finally, switching over to MLB, Jose Urquidy finished with 4 strikeouts (which we kind of called), vs. his line of 5.5. We had the under there.

L’s:

Promos to be aware of:

Jock MKT: Kevin Durant Points 23.5 (28.5)

Pick #1: Jose Berrios | Over 4.5 Strikeouts (+115)

Wanted to switch it up a little bit and hit you guys with the + money prop. This might be a scary one, as Berrios has been about the opposite of a model of consistency these past couple of years. He has however, run off three decent starts in a row, averaging 6 strikeouts across the three. Boston’s offense has been heating up, and doesn’t strike out a lot, but I think it is fine to roll the dice on Berrios being decent again, especially if you can get plus odds.

Pick #2: Tony Gonsolin | Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-116)

In his first start of the year, Tony G had one strikeout against the Pirates, and was limited to 65 pitches. I would expect that the Dodgers will continue to be cautious with him, and I think this line is therefore a touch too high. The Phillies will provide a slightly more difficult test than Pittsburgh and Gonsolin just isn’t a huge strikeout guy anyway, averaging just .78 / inning. That would mean he would need to go like 6 innings in this one, I just don’t think that is going to happen.

Pick #3: Jaylen Brown Over Tyrese Maxey | Head to Head Points (-.5) (-120)

The series will open in Boston where the tandem of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown will look to keep scoring in bunches. The only reason Maxey's point prop is so high is because Joel Embiid is almost certainly going to sit, meaning Maxey will be counted on to step up. I still don't think the Sixers top scorer this postseason (21.8 PPG) will score more than the Celtic's 2nd top scorer (26.7 PPG), especially in the Garden. Embiid sat Game 4 in Brooklyn and Maxey had 16 in 39 Min. I also think he will see a lot of pesky Marcus Smart. Lastly, Jayson Tatum's scoring numbers were down significantly against Philly this year, only strengthening my cause for the Man In The Black Mask to outscore Maxey by at least 1.
