Time to bounce back...
Welcome to The Proposition’s 3 at 3. We had been on the lookout for a simple place to find a few picks a day to build a bankroll, round out some parlays, or attempt to beat any of the handful of prop sites out there, and to do so with as little excess junk as possible.
No analysis paralysis, no needless podcast banter, no endless embedded twitter links, just three picks every day at 3PM (et) with relevant rationale.
Thank you for subscribing. Let’s go:
Pick #1: Noah Syndergaard | Over 3.5 Ks (-130)
It is crazy how far Thor has fallen as frontline pitcher, but to think he would get less than 4Ks here seems hard to believe. Against these same Diamondbacks last week, Syndergaard posted 6Ks on only 76 pitches. We got burnt on this same logic with Kershaw last night, but 3.5 just feels one K too low.
Pick #2: Tanner Houck | Over 4.5 Ks (-143)
Yes, this could be ugly, and yes there is a lot of juice. However, Houck averages about a strikeout per inning, and I do think that he can get to 5 innings against the Tigers (who also have struck out on more than 27% of their PAs so far this year. I may watch with my hands covering my face, but this is the same guy who had 5Ks on only 70 pitches against a far better Orioles lineup in his last start.
Pick #3: Luis Garcia | Under 5.5 Ks (-118)
Stop taking all overs you say? Fine- let’s take a stab on an under. Given Garcia strikes out less than a batter an inning (.87 back through last August), and the fact the Twins are about middle of the road when it comes to striking out, I think 4 or 5 is the most likely outcome here.
